Celebrating Anniversary – 10 Years Sinners Domino Entertainment

Announcement: The German Domino Record 2018

14.07.2018

The German Domino Record 2018 will be held at the Mittelstufenhalle in Nidda at 8:45pm on Friday, 3rd August 2018, marking the tenth anniversary of the event. This was recently announced by Patrick Sinner of Sinners Domino Entertainment and the Mayor of Nidda, Hans-Peter Seum, at a joint press conference held at the Town Hall.

A special anniversary: 10 years of Sinners Domino Entertainment
Under the motto “Celebrating Anniversary – 10 Years Sinners Domino Entertainment”, plans are in place to topple a total of 600,000 dominoes and therefore break the record for Germany’s largest ever chain reaction, as well as four official world records. Pyrotechnic elements and professional lighting will set the stage for a unique atmosphere to mark the world’s largest domino show of the last decade. The notary and lawyer Richard Trunk will attend the event to ensure compliance with the regulations and, assisted by engineer Frank Paprocki, use specialist measuring equipment to determine the structural dimensions of individual potentially record-breaking elements down to the nearest millimetre.

A huge media response expected
Mayor Hans-Peter Seum is looking forward to the event, which is again expected to attract a great deal of media attention and shine the spotlight on Nidda on both a national and global level: “We are excited to welcome the team and are already keeping our fingers crossed that their efforts will be rewarded on 3rd August.”

SDE to set new standards with its anniversary celebrations
Patrick Sinner: “We couldn’t celebrate a ten-year anniversary more perfectly than with our plans for this year’s event. From day one of our preparations for this special occasion, the focus has been on showcasing the most stunning and spectacular pictures and scenery that we have built so far. This is by no means an easy task as such spectacles always entail risk and every domino toppled counts. But it will certainly make for some thrilling and fascinating show moments if everything goes as planned.”

Thanks to supporters
Sinners Domino Entertainment would like to thank its sponsors, without which the anniversary event would not be possible. Alongside the main sponsor, the supermarket REWE Rainer Lapp, the event is also being supported by the butcher’s Landmetzgerei Nagel (based in Büches), the construction company Baugesellschaft Sperling & Partner (Glashütten) and the storage company Gesellschaft für Lagereibetriebe GfL (Nidda).

Important information for interested spectators: Advance ticket sales for the first time
In order to ensure a more orderly admissions procedure at this year’s event, a new security concept has been developed in cooperation with the Town Council. This entails advance ticket sales via both our website and from the Bürgerservice at Nidda Town Hall at a price of €7 for adults and €4 for children aged between 6 and 15. Advance sales will start on 16th July and end on 2nd August (subject to availability). Interested parties are advised to purchase their tickets as soon as possible due to a very high expected turnout and based on the fact that last year, not all visitors were still able to purchase seats at the door.

The highlights:

  • 10 years of the German Domino Record
  • The biggest domino show of the decade is planned
  • 600,000 dominoes constructed
  • Advance ticket sales from 16th July
